The Builder's Arms

As the UK commits to net zero carbon emissions by 2050, we’ve decided to take a step back and assess our carbon footprint at The Builder's Arms – and within that, deciding on an effective strategy that will limit our impact on Earth.
We’ve done a lot of work so far and are incredibly proud of this, but there’s still a long way to go, and plenty of things to do.
Our parent company Mitchell’s & Butlers are doing their part, making little changes in the hopes our planet will reap the benefits. Through sustainable decision-making and improvements, we’re focusing on:
o Net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 (Scopes 1, 2 and 3)
o By 2030, achieving zero waste to landfill
o An overwhelming 50% reduction of food waste by 2030
o A close relationship with FareShare, where we redistribute surplus food to those who need it within the communities
o Our pubs are powered with 100% renewable electricity
o 96% of our operational waste is diverted from landfill
o We’re founding members of the Zero Carbon Forum and are dedicated to reducing our emissions and developing a Roadmap to Net Zero
